Killa's Story
Da Killa KC is the stage name of the up-and-coming American Singer-Songwriter and Indie Rap Artist Priscilla Hansak. She was born just northwest of Chicago in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. At the age of 5, she moved to Las Vegas, Nevada with family where she was raised and still resides. She wrote her first rap when she was 13 and won a rap battle between friends where she was then given the nickname KC, which stands for “Killa Cilla”. She began to build a reputation as a rapper to friends and peers alike.
“I attended a behavioral school in 9th grade, and I can remember the one time I left my notebook in class. I think I just went to the rest room, but when I returned, the kids sitting at the same table as me were going through my notebook. They started mockingly reciting my lyrics and laughing at my rhymes. Even though I felt attacked since my notebook was really private to me, it fueled the fire in me to perfect my craft and keep writing bars”.
She started locally making a name for herself as solo artist “Da Killa KC” on social media by uploading music to sites such as YouTube and Soundcloud. She since has released 3 mixtapes Your First Reality Check (2012), Product Of Late 80's (2014), and From Different To Difference (2017) and also one full solo album, P.U.N.S. (2018). She has performed live at many establishments in Las Vegas including Bugsy, Bunkhouse, Hennessey’s Tavern (Hip Hop Roots), Beauty Bar, Vanguard Lounge, Club Lit, Club 702, The Eliphino. Adrenaline. She has also performed at events beyond locally including Hollywood and Los Angeles, California, and Brooklyn, New York.
Da Killa KC’s latest song “Not Alive” was released in November of 2021 and was written and produced independently in her home studio. Also, Not Alive is the first song to be published through the independent publishing company she started, “Killa Cilla Publishing Company”. As of 2022, she has music projects in the works that are fully written and produced by herself and her longtime partner/girlfriend soon to be released.
